Alobar Yorkville is tucked along a pathway in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood. It puts its foot forward as a cocktail bar, but it is a full-fledged Michelin recommended à la carte restaurant, offering choice seafood with the finest accoutrements, fish and chops off of the charcoal grill, and world-class wines, all served with genuine hospitality.     Overall great experience. Food was delicious, attentive server. Only complaint is, when we walked in the concierge assured me that she will move us inside from patio once table becomes available. We could clearly see two empty tables and we were kept in patio u till the end of dining experience.

    They’re not very customer friendly. I was a few minutes early and the hostess refused to sit me at the table and asked me to wait outside. I thought it was unnecessary as the tables were clearly set up. They were also very inconsiderate to the fact my guest was almost 30 minutes late because there some kind of fire on Yorkville and she couldn’t get to the restaurant. Which caused our dinner to start late and they ended up asking for the table back. Nothing makes me angrier then when they do that, especially after a $400 dinner. The food was loaded with butter. Our server was friendly but that’s about it. You need better hostesses.

For our 5:00 reservations we typically begin seating guests no earlier than 4:55 PM, as we are still finalizing preparations and completing the finishing touches to ensure the best possible experience. We apologize if that wasn’t properly communicated to you upon your arrival. We do our best to communicate at the time of booking that reservations are allotted a two-hour dining window. While we do our best to accommodate delays and extend dining times when possible, in this case, after 3.5 hours, we did need to transition the table to welcome our next guests, given the high volume of reservations. Regarding your dishes we genuinely appreciate your feedback and have passed your feedback about the food along to our Chef.

    Delicious food, great service, and a beautiful room. Would definitely recommend for special occasion or date night, but I'm giving 4 stars because $44 for cacio e pepe is criminal (it was yummy though).

    Overall, a bit underwhelming. The service felt rushed, and the meal didn’t quite live up to expectations. I tried the salmon crudo and the lamb with a side of broccolini. The broccolini was nicely done, but the lamb was just okay and the salmon was drowned in sauce. Given the experience, it’s not surprising they lost their Michelin star.

    We sat at the bar, Chris was amazing! The scallops, ribeye, sea bream and salad were 100% Chris took care of us, and so did the chefs! Thank you! An amazing experience!
